In the last week it seems as if we have shifted from winter to summer in one giant leap. The summer sun is finally out and it has driven people all over the world to explore their local area, strike up the barbecue and try new things. Summer is the best time of year to get out of your house, into the sun and have fun! Here are some of the top things you will want to do this summer.

1.Travel

The most popular option during the summer is to pack up your things, jet off and spend some time exploring another country. You can have an amazing time wherever you go at this time of year: whether it be enjoying a fiesta in Mexico; staying at Courtyard Port of Spain and exploring the Caribbean islands; enjoying great food in Greece or simply going on a road trip in your own country. Travel is great for the soul and it is a wonderful way to make memories this year.

2.Family Barbecue

There’s no better way to spend the first hot day of the year than to invite the whole family around and light up the grill. The barbecue is a classic summer activity and it gives you the excuse to play with fire and cook some incredible meats and side dishes. You can enjoy the summer sun as you kick back and spend time with the people you love the most.

3.Hike

If you want to stay active and have more of an adventure this summer, you can spend time exploring national parks and hike up the bigger mountains you can find. Hiking can be as strenuous or easy as you need it to be and it is a great way to enjoy the summer sun with your family. Take it one step up and bring a picnic with you to enjoy at the summit!

4.Go Swimming

Beach days are the best days during the summer. You can enjoy walking along the beach with the sand under your toes, get an ice cream to cool off and enjoy a pint at your favourite seaside pub or bar. You can also make the most of the warm weather by taking a dip in the sea to cool off from the sun. It’s not only a fun activity but also a great workout!

5.Stargaze

During the summer, you are much more likely to travel around to more rural areas of your country. During one of these day trips, why not camp under the stars and enjoy watching them pass you by in the sky. You can even teach your children about the different constellations and tell them about space and the other planets in our solar system. There is something truly magical about the stars on a summer night.

6.Outdoor Concert

If you and your friends love music, why not make the most of the weather and visit an outdoor concert in your area? Lots of national parks and centres will hold outdoor concerts throughout the summer for you to enjoy. Just bring along a blanket, some snacks and drinks for a magical night.
