Proper Care and Maintenance of Sandals

I like wearing comfortable sandals not only because they slip on easily but also because they can be paired with almost all articles of clothing. However, like other types of footwear, proper care and maintenance should be observed to make sure that we can wear them for a long time. It’s easy to do that if you know how to properly maintain a variety of common materials since each type has different care methods. Finished leather sandals should be regularly cleaned and conditioned using a gentle leather cleaner because this restores the leather’s natural oils. As for unfinished leather, you can use saddle soap. Suede sandals should be regularly brushed to remove dust.

Rubber sandals and flip flops can be cleaned by using a dishwashing soap or shampoo scrubbed with a soft-bristled brush. Air dry or place them under the sun afterwards. Don’t forget to give your sandals’ insoles a light squirt of a household disinfectant spray and keep them in a cold, well-ventilated location. This prevents bacteria from forming in your feet. This works best on strappy sandals and rubber flip flops. Preventive maintenance goes a long way in helping your sandals withstand the elements. Also remember to thoroughly read the care and cleaning instructions of the sandals you bought.

Since I want my footwear, particularly my sandals to be of top notch quality, I always shop at Reef. This environmentally conscious brand has a vast selection of men’s footwear from sandals to leather shoes. There’re several models I’m interested in like the reef Rover men’s athletic sandals. This active footwear features unparalleled comfort with maximum durability and traction to prevent slippage even when wet. It boasts of the SwellularTechnology which puts emphasis on comfort, support, and traction. Its super soft contoured foam footbed gives instant comfort. Other features include medium density molded foam midsole for long-lasting support, and high-density sawtooth rubber outsole for superior traction, protection, and durability.

I’ll surely be the envy of many with the reef Fanning. Aside from its contoured compression molded EVA footbed with anatomical arch support, it also has full 360° heel airbag enclosed in soft polyurethane which increases shock absorption, water friendly synthetic nubuck upper, and a church key to open soda bottles. It’s just perfect even for everyday use. I’ll likewise look good if I wear the reef Phantom Le. It’s soft and comfortable and has features such as premium leather upper with air mesh lining, contoured compression molded EVA footbed with anatomical arch support, and grippy molded high density EVA outsole.
